I feel that I know my children well. However, today Will totally shocked me. Since yesterday we have been talking about going off the diving board. We have not been pushing this - it has been positioned as "when you are ready" (we will get you a pillow pet;). All day he has been telling me he is ready. We arrive at the pool, get changed in the locker room, head out on to the deck. As I'm holding Siena's hand, carrying the swim bag, Will is 15 feet ahead of me with his life jacket on marching toward the board. I am planning on getting into the water and having to do a little bit of coaxing, and having him jump to me. What actually happened is he marched right up and with ZERO hesitation runs off the board while I'm standing there with my mouth hanging open. I didn't even have a chance to get photos...or video! Then I jumped around the deck for awhile because I was so proud. So above is his second jump of many on this great day!
