Happy Girl turns 2!
More pictures to come...but mommy is exhausted - I think we have been celebrating for four days straight! Thanks to our wonderful family and friends for celebrating with us...a special thanks to Jodi and Auntie J for their help in the kitchen & Sheila, Pam, Auntie for bringing yummy salads!

23 Months

Random thoughts.
In one month she will be two - how can that be? We went to her well visit today and she is doing great. All of a sudden she talks. Really talks: 4-5 word sentences. There is another voice and opinion in the house. There is an echo in the house too as she repeats everything mommy says. It is nice to have back up when I'm trying to get brother to do/stop something. She is tough, I guess that is what big brothers do to you. She still loves to sing and I think she will enjoy the music class we will start next month. She loves food - even beets which is a huge deal for someone in this house...no one eats beets! She loves to be held..."Mommy hold me" I hear a lot. I also hear "I want to do it" a lot. She is very determined. She is my bestest girl..

18 Months

18 month highlights

• rarely shy...will go right up to strangers...and ask for their shoes :)
• has really developed a shoe fetish
  
• likes to have her feet tickled
• sings a lot and singing to her still soothes her
• some times is so full that her belly button seems to pop out
• loves the hot tub...looking forward to swim class next month
  

16 Months

16 Month Highlights

• Vocabulary increases by the day...even putting words together: See you, love you...
• Speed has increased - she knows how to run - especially if she has something she shouldn't
• Blows bubbles in the tub
• Loves to sing
• Loves her thumb
  

November 20, 2008 - 14 Months

14 Month Highlights

• Notice the hair, we have really been working on keeping a barrette in!
• Notice what a great job she does brushing her teeth...we've been working on that too
  
• Has lots of teeth! 8 I think...with 3 more on the way
  
• Developing a bit of an attitude
• Saying more and more words...milk, all done, NO is a favorite...Nana
• When ever the phone rings she says "Nana - Nana"
• 21.6 lbs with a big belly!

Introducing Siena the Walking Girl!

13 Months

I think I am going to enter them in Dancing with the Stars! They had some really good footing there for awhile.

13 Month Highlights

• Signing "more", "milk", "all done", "bird"
• Words: "Mommy", "cracker", "kitty", "baby"
• So close to walking
• Will try and take back toys that brother takes away
• Eating what we eat...loves it all
• Her brother really wants to wrestle with her...she tolerates it for the most part

11 Month Highlights

• Still eating anything...especially blue berries
• 6 teeth including 1 molar (ouch!)
• "Cruising" along the furniture
• Knows "peek a boo"
• When all done with a meal she claps

I had (3) video clips to choose from today...1) Siena eating veggie won-tons, peas, tator-tots... was going to post that one just to prove to Nana and Auntie that people in this house do eat things that are green (even if it is just Siena), 2) Siena holding on to the couch, cruising, marching in place but looking away from the camera the entire time...and then there is this video, which is a bit chaotic but does a great job showing a typical evening for us...Siena crawling on mommy, Will running wild, mommy juggling the camera from one hand to the other...trust me, there is NEVER a dull moment....and I am saying that with a smile.

10 Month Highlights

• Crawling everywhere
• Can make it up the one step in our house
• Says "mama"
• There still isn't a food she doesn't like
• Will do "kick, kick" on command in the pool

• Pulls herself into a standing position

9 Month Highlights

• top two teeth coming in
• crawling/scooting
• chatting - has made sounds that sound like ma-ma, da-da, and all-done...go figure:)
• loves to kick her feet...in the pool, on the floor, on the changing table
• sits up
  
• did great on the two overnight trips we have taken this past month
• still very happy but getting more vocal if she wants something
• Putting everything in her mouth

8 Months

Highlights:

• Determined...as you can see in the video
  
• Can see glimpses of top two teeth - they are clearly bothering her :(
  
• Good chance she will crawl by 9 months
• Can pick up cheerios, almost get them in her mouth
• Loves the bath and the pool
• Working on some signs, eat, dog, milk...but nothing yet
• Still very easy going
  

7 Months

7 month highlights:

• Rolling over back to tummy and back again
• Eating like a champ
• Can grab/pinch...as in a chunk of flesh off your face, oh and loves to pull hair (everyone has now been warned!)
  
• Does not like it when brother screams at her in the car...it makes her cry
• Likes to have her hand, actually both hands, in the food bowl while she is being fed
  

Not the most action packed video (hey she's only 7 months :) but it gives you an idea of how strong she is.

Oh brother, oh brother...let me count the ways how I love thee!

6 Months

6 Month Highlights:

• Still very easy going
• Can roll from tummy to back; almost back to tummy
  
• Eating pureed veggies with a little bit of rice cereal
• Almost in a nap routine
• Still nursing :) although mommy isn't meeting my constant demand
• Gabbing things...mommy's nose, Will's ears
• Kind of purrs when she is tired (you can hear it a little on the video)
  

5 Months

5 - month highlights

• grabbing her toes
• thinks her hand is the most amazing thing ever
• loves to kick her feet in the bath tub
• doing well with babysitters
• neck is very, very strong
• starting to put things in her mouth
  

4 Months

Trying to do a better job of video taping Siena so here she is at 4 months!

4 month highlights
- has rolled over a few times
- laughs
- much more vocal
- likes to suck her thumb
- still sleeping well
- still surviving on all breast milk - hooray for mommy!

3 Months
