Today Happy and I went to the YMCA for the last time, as our Y will close on Monday. Over the last two years I have had a chance to see the mission of the organization at work in a different way than I (as an employee of 9 years) ever have before - because it was me & my children benefiting together.

The Y, and particularly the North Bay Y, saw me through some tough times, mainly the death of my father. My dad and I worked together at the Y when he became ill. Words can't describe the support my family received from the Y, not just from the amazing staff, but also the members, when he suddenly passed away....The Y was there for my nephews when they first moved to the area. Me and my dad were able to bring them with us to the Y for camp while my sister got adjusted to a new job.

I could go on and on but I think you get the point that the North Bay YMCA meant a lot to me personally.

Thank you to all the staff, past and present, for creating such a sense of community, such a caring environment. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Yes - the North Bay YMCA is (was) one of my favorite places as well. You were a huge part of the "specialness" of that YMCA.

Thanks for sharing the photos and your thoughts - many will miss the North Bay YMCA.
